folks - don't like the look of the mud guards. What do most people think? Do they really prevent your car from getting dirty requiring fewer car washes?

Thx

No, I don't think they do anything to keep the vehicle any cleaner. How can they. Not much coverage area there. With that said, I won't own a vehicle without them. I live in an area that uses salt and I think it probably helps keep some of the salt pieces from pelting the lower portion of the car and for sure the lower fender well. And I don't mind the looks either. But don't be sold on the idea you will be washing less.

You may feel the need for it in this scenario. You are driving your freshly washed and waxed car (all by yourself) to the nearest grocery store, everything went well but there was one small puddle of dirty water which you couldn't avoid even though you slowed down. After you come home and find muddy spray marks along the lower part of the car, poking fun at your hard work. :D.

Yes, if you live in an area with a lot of snow or gravel roads. It's an automatic purchase for me living in the mid west, I've seen how much damage driving over a freshly salted roads can do to the sided of the car after a year or two driving in it. The rocks of salt act as sand blaster and the mud guards minimize this.

I was told the only reason it's not installed at factory is it gives the dealer something to make money on and to appeal to the aesthetics of people.

I have seen color match on other brands. Like I a Yukon Denali comes to mind. I think they look good on that. I am not sure if I would pay to do that on the oddy or not. But would probably look nice.

Do the Mud Guards come with the car? I have an Elite, and when I came in for service, and the Dealer installed the Mud Guards for FREE. They said, they were supposed to install them when the car came off the truck, but forgot and sold the car to me without mud guards. ??? Oh well, Im not gonna complain for "Free Mud Guards." Just want to know if the Touring and Elite are supposed to have mudguards included?
