I'm not the principle driver of ours but when I do drive it I also don't like the headrest angle. I just let the seat back tilt back a notch or two and I can drive it for 12 hours with no problem.

I have the same problem with my 2015 Odyssey. I’ve recently had some neck trauma and the front row headrests Which I found to be uncomfortable before are now even worse for my neck.

I'm hoping to find a different model that will work in my drivers seat that doesnt angle my head so far forwards. Does anyone have any advice about an interchangeable headrest that might work? Thanks!

It often helps if you tell us what trim level your vehicle is. Not all parts are interchangeable.

I can't speak to the angle, but I do know that the driver's headrest from a 2006 EX-L will fit the driver's seat of a 2017 EX-L. It's a tight fit, but it did slide all the way down. The ones from the 06 are definitely shorter, which I need because I am 5' 4". With the seat set at my driving position, the visor does not clear the 17 headrest when swinging it to the side while down. I have to do this weird fold up, swing over, fold down thing every time. With the 06 headrest, I just tilt my head slightly and swing it over, even while down.

However, I can't find a color match in the 06 style. The 06 didn't come in Truffle. The Grey is close, but not prefect. I called one auto upholstery place and asked if they could recover an 06 headrest with Honda Truffle leather, but apparently their source for OEM leather didn't carry Truffle. I haven't look any further, but I should start trying again.

Again, I can't speak to the angle. I just sold the 06 so I can't test that for you.

YES! I have very straight posture and the head rests that slant forward really bother my neck and if I'm driving for a longer period of time, I will start to get a slight headache. I'm wondering if I can get a replacement that doesn't lean forward!? For now I have it completely removed.

The angle is so far forward for crash protection. The position minimizes whiplash injuries and is basically required in modern vehicles to get a top rating in crash safety. Anything built since around 2010 will have the same 'uncomfortable' head rest issue.

For those who have discomfort in the default configuration, the headrests are reversible on these vans.

Push the release button and pull up the headrest until its out then reverse it, there is slightly more resistance when inserting it reversed but no issue doing so.

It puts the headrest angle back a fair enough amount, but not so much that severe whiplash would occur in the event of being rear ended or compared to no headrest at all.

Trade offs and risk vs reward...

I know multiple older people who prefer this configuration esp for long drives.
