Hello All,

Happy new year.

New to this forum. We are expecting our 2nd child soon and currently in search for a used odyssey.

We found a 2015 Touring Elite (Modern steel color w/ gray interior, 48k miles, clean inside and out) @ Honda dealership in CT. It was a leased van and all services are done at the dealership. It is not a CPO and lowest price dealer could sell this for $24800. Dealer is willing to take our deposit, however the van can be purchased only in March due to 2nd row open recall fix to be done before that.

Couple of questions:

1) Is this a good price?
2) What are all the things that we need to check in this van?
3) We are ready to wait until March if this is a good deal. Please share your thoughts.

Appreciate your inputs.

I just loaded up my KBB app and according to that yes it sounds like a good deal. I haven’t done other searches or have anything to base it on if it’s a very good deal or not, but considering they are a couple grand below trade in value sounds great. This recall issue probably has a little something to do with it. We have a 2015 Touring and it’s been great reliability wise. Ours has only half the miles of the one you’re looking at, but regardless there have been no issues. I see guys talking about the cylinder deactivation being an issue in some cars. I have also read some posts about brake rotor warpage, but that’s a simple fix. Pay attention to how he transmission shifts. Ours has been great, but I do remember reading a few posts here and there regarding shift issues which may or may not be fixed by a software reflash. Besides that it’s the same old 3.5 liter engine in pretty much every other Honda/Acura.

Thank you JTS97Z28. Really appreciate your inputs.

Yes, you are correct. it is listed well below KBB value. I would like to get some inputs on the actual pricing paid for similar vehicle by Ody members. If you don't mind when did you purchase your touring and what is the price you paid for it?

Based on inputs, I made a quick checklist for myself to check:

1) Transmission shift (how smooth it is...)
2) Front and rear rotors (for any warpage / steering shaking while breaking etc.)

anything else critical i should check for?

After purchase i am planning to do:

a) Weathertech floor liners (gray color may be?)
b) S-VCM controller (it seems advanced version of VCMuzzler, not sure yet. based on my research in this forum).
c) Air filters (both cabin and engine)
d) Synthetic oil change & ATF drain and refill (by myself. got the detail instructions in this forum as well)

any other suggestions from anyone?

We purchased our touring new for $37,000. I forget what the msrp was, but it was somewhere in the low 40s I think. I believe when we were looking we would have had to pay 40 to get the Elite.
I can’t really think of anything else to look into except all the usual used car stuff. Look at the carfax, inspect the the exterior and paint and make sure it hasn’t had any work. If you look down the side of the vehicle at an angle you can see the clear coat texture. It should be consistent all the way through each panel. If you see one panel that looks different it likely had some body work or repairs. That texture is usually referred to as “orange peel” as it kind of looks like an....orange peel.

Theo2, thank you. dealer shared the carfax report and it shows one owner, leased van, no accidents or any other damage reported. is there any other thing i should check if this is a flooded van?
