We have a crunched RFront fender. Looks superficially like only the fender is effected. From the exploded view at Majestic Honda, it looks like it may be easy to replace myself and just have it painted. Has anyone done this? Is it harder than it looks? Or should I just fork over the $$ for a body shop to do the entire job? Thanks!

Not sure... but I'd be interested to see other's replies. My father-in-law just dented in the front drivers side fender of his 04 and I was thinking the same thing.

I know, I've looked at this view too, as I said in my original post. But things aren't always as easy as they look from a diagram such as this. Does your post mean you've actually done this or are you assuming from the diagram that it is easy, as I did?
Anyone else??

It is easy, at least as fender replacements are concerned. However, I like to paint them before I install them so I can get paint on the inside and outside like the factory fender.

Why don't you take it around to a few body shops and get some "estimates"and while you're there tell them you are thinking of doing the fender swap yourself and you want to know if they will quote just painting ... then see if they volunteer any advice on replacement difficulty.

But, if it is really easy it looks like you only save $50 or so if your selected body shop will charge Honda List Price. Plus labor which if it's easy, as it seems, might not be a lot. And with shipping again the dealer may be a better deal, since they get truck deliveries not single UPS packages.

Also you could just go ahead and start to remove trim, etc. (nothing to delegalize the roadworthiness of the car) to see if the fasteners are exposed. For example, the upper fastener at the top right corner of the picture looks like it could be hidden under some trim. And the headlight/cornering light assembly is involved somehow, not sure how.

BTW, if it is Silver, light blue, or Gold, you will have a hard time matching the paint!
