Hello, I bought this Honda Odyssey 2018. I'm planning to travel to Alberta in the summer and we have 4 kids so we need more space to take all our luggage. I quoted rail bars and crossbars at Honda but they are too expensive. I also saw some videos to install them my self, because they were also charging me more than 200 for the installation. Can someone tell me where I can buy roof rails and cross bars cheaper?
Thanks for your help.
Fabio.

Have you looked on ebay?
Or try bernardiparts website. I can't post links, not enough posts yet.
They are a local dealer in MA.
Yes Thank you. We did not fin in ebay and they have some alternative in Bernardiparts. They are still expensive and have to add shipment costs (I'm in Vancouver Canada)
Thank you for your answer anyway

Please be aware other manufactures roof rail bars and crossbars have caused the roof-line to be distorted or dented in some areas. The Odyssey ones are expensive-I would agree, but after reading on this forum about the horror stories some have had on other manufactures, I think I would stay with Odyssey crossbars and rail. If you do a search on this website you will see the reason why I say this.

What about aftermarket providers of rack systems, such as Yakima, Thule, or Inno? Although they are expensive at MSRP, you can frequently find them discounted from various e-tailers. Also, used classifieds websites (such as Craigslist...unsure if there is an equivalent in Canada) will have people hawking their "old" roof rack systems.

Yep. If you can wait, REI will eventually have a either a 20% off coupon, or sale on Yakima gear. You can use that to stock up and save big.

hello. i actually have the same concern as i am about to have a couple of summer trips coming up. i did find an OEM one on eBay for 266i think for the black rails and 366 something for the chrome rails. but i did find an aftermarket part made by vanguard i think that was chrome and sold for only 270. reviews were great. i found it on eBay. if you must get the OEM part, then go to hondapartscheap.com or hondapartsunlimited, hondanetwork.. im just not sure about the shipping to canada. good luck!!

I did a trip from DC to FL for spring break. I don't have a roof rack or cross bars. I decided I would get a $30 roof top cargo bag along with RoofPax Roof Top Cargo Carrier Hooks ($17) for securing the car top roof bag. It held up like a champ even in the heaviest of downpours and 80mph speeds. Only drawback is that you need to pay special attention to the bag as you drive. If you hear a vibration, that probably means something is rubbing and chaffing against your car. I used kitchen non-slip mats to add padding between the straps and the car paint. This was WAY cheaper than installing a roof rack system for something you'll likely use on rare occasion.

If cost is really a concern, have you considered packing more efficiently? I regularly take 6 people, 4 adults 2 older children and luggage for two weeks of travel and it all fits easily inside. One reason I got a minivan is so that all the stuff I regularly carry can fit INSIDE the van.

there are a number of Honda Factory part sealers on the internet that seek at below factory prices. i bought mud guards and others Honda factory parts this wY snd You Tube can show you how do just about anything.

Another alternative for extra capacity is to have a towing hitch installed and buy a Hitch & Haul rack that mounts to the hitch. Harbor Freight sells such a rack fairly cheap. I use mine to haul all kinds of stuff and especially things I do not want to place inside my van. ( sod, gas cans , lawnmower, pressure washer etc. Very versatile.

I use my roof top cargo box to put camping equip. in there, keeps the bugs and sand/dirt out of the van. Not always do you want to bring stuff inside the van...

I went to use my tents a month after a 3 week trip and my tents had quite a few spiders that covered areas with webs. Glad that s*** wasn't in my vehicle.

Hello FabioPelaez. Try College Hills Honda parts. Sometimes that have shipping specials such as free shipping or 50% off shipping if you purchase a certain amount. Large items may have restrictions as to whether they qualify for shipping specials so you'll have to read the fine print or call them to confirm.

I have ordered entire towing package with trans cooler kit and hitch wiring harness too with free shipping.
