Have a 2016 Elite that has only 27k miles, all services done. Had a dead battery this morning, replaced that. Now after driving for a while, a beep warned me and saw on the dash that Check Transmission is displaying on the dash, and the D light is flashing, along with both FCW and LDW flights on and says check those as well.

I was going to take it in for a brake fluid change anyway since the car is over 3 years old.

But I just went out again and could not recreate the lights after a test drive around the neighborhood and nearby streets. Just annoying if I go to the dealership and they can't recreate these lights.

Then again, maybe it's better they find what the hell is wrong now. I am not used to seeing a "Check Transmission message" on a car that is 3 years old with less than 30k miles.

under warranty I suspect?
any events will remain in the computer.

27K in four years? or just kind of three because you bought it late in the year? In any case, I think you should consider having the transmission fluid changed. (just a normal drain & fill)* Really at 27K you are up for a 30K service (fourth oil change) So have them done or source & replace yourself the engine and cabin filters.

Of course you mention what happened and try to get them to check for codes. If what happened was a real issue, and not just the computer freaking out because of a weak battery, there will be codes stored.
*If they find a trans issue, there is a service bulletin on them. You can get all fresh fluid along with a software update.

FCW and LDW are red herrings, they come on with any check engine light.

Sounds good. I actually did get 1 trans fluid change late in 2019 due to age alone. I make sure to keep Honda/Acura vehicles up to date with transmission fluid changes.

Let's see what happens - scheduled for brake fluid change and check codes service on Tuesday afternoon.

But won't be using the van til the drive to the dealership. No school = no use.

Ahh...you have entered the world of Honda transmissions.

Was driving my '17 TE today and literally wanted to drive the sh1t into the canal. AWFUL transmissions.

First thing to do is to check for stored DTCs with a scantool. Don't take it to Honda just yet, first you find out as much as you can before you go in for their $$$ roller coaster ride.

Talking all from experience. See the posts I posted in the past.

Sounds good - I'll maybe go to a friend mechanic first to check the codes. I had just figured to jump on the dealership since I was in the 5 year/60k mile powertrain warranty still.

The transmissions are highly electronic. Any electrical issue can wreak havoc on them. Make sure your battery cables are tight and everything is put back together properly. Also, someone pointed out this service bulletin in another thread. It might be something to check.

What you can do is sick around.with you throttle position screw and reset you computer and see what symptoms you feel there's alot of variances in how it shifts because of how much you adjust your throttle from closed to slightly tilted it won't effect your engines proformane just the transmission aggressiveness at least with yours is fairly newer but I doubt they changed much

Sorry, I never came back here to update everyone after going to the Honda dealership. They could not recreate any codes and said this always happens after a battery dies and you replace the battery without using a backup pack plugged into the OBD connector.

Everything has been working great and back to normal.

I did take out my VCMuzzler since I was going to the dealership and any warranty issues, and no time to put it back in.
Definitely notice more jerking of the engine or maybe it's just all in my head?
