2015 (feb purchase) with 53k on it.

Recently felt like trans was slipping, out of gear, somewhat hard shift.

Brought it into Honda Dealer they came back with TSB 17-043 and a price of $335.

I already knew about the TSB bc of this forum. I asked if this was covered under the 8yr/80k warranty. First he says no it’s not under warranty. 5 minutes later after checking again he tells me it’s covered, so no charge.

Two takeaways 1) love this forum and 2) always do a little research/never blindly trust the dealer/service advisor :)

Oh and it’s been a week and transmission seems fine. I like the shift points and I think lack of judder. I guess time will tell.

Great they did it under warranty. I’ll assume they did the 3X drain and fill as part of the fix. Consider your self lucky! Just 30K miles from now remember to schedule another 3X drain and fill. Also consider installing a VCM inhibit device and a transmission cooler. Both IMHO are required if your going to hold onto the van any length.

I’m at nearly 227K miles and all original drivetrain working well. I did replace the axles at 200k but that was the only major repair besides standard maintenance.

227k that's awesome

As an alternative to the 3x drain and fill every 30K miles, I would suggest changing the transmission fluid 1x every 10K miles. This keeps the fluid continually fresh, rather than waiting for the 30K and then attempting to get out all the dirty fluid. An effective 3x drain and fill requires a few hundred miles of driving to get the new fluid to mix with the old, which a dealer doesn't have time to do (they might drive it a few miles in between each drain/fill, max).

I change my engine oil and do a 1x ATF D&F every 10k miles.
