2014 EXL model
44k mileage

when heater turn on, only cold air come out the vents of driver side, but hot air comes out all other vents.
I look up internet and find out blend door actuator issue.
Thus, I contact Honda, and they saying that you need to replace all air blow motor costing 1.2k$ for parts.

is this make sense?

thanks for your comments

I'd suggest trying the $50 part you can install yourself with simple tools before going beyond that.

The driver's side blend door motor is a normal issue (my van had it...) - replacing the whole HVAC blower, not so much.

Wow! Sounds like the service advisor has a year end bonus at stake. Agree that problem is most likely the drivers side blend door motor. On Rock Auto they call it the left main and the Dorman is $54. It's a little tight up under the dash and you have to lay on your back a little awkwardly, but it's not that bad of a job. Took me about 30 minutes.

So probably worth doing some diagnosis before throwing parts at it - is the blend motor moving when you increase/decrease temperature on the drivers side? On our old 05, we had the drivers side blend motor start acting up (would flutter) - I opened it up, cleaned the contacts, etc. then reassembled and it was good to go. I'm always leery of Dorman parts as the quality is often poor...

I tried the remove, clean/reset and re-install and it didn't work for me...

Here's the location:

The lower of the two actuators on the driver's side of the HVAC assembly. You can see the plug there just below the foot air vent (Driver's Air Mix Control Motor).

You can look up Honda part numbers directly on the Honda website: Honda eStore store: Select your vehicle to shop for Honda Parts

The one you are looking for is: 79160-TK8-A41 (found under Electrical/Exhaust/Heater/Fuel -> Heater Unit)
