Has anybody had good luck with non-OEM headlights for their 2005-2010 Odyssey? I've found some via Amazon for ~190/side, but no reviews available on how well those housings/lenses have held up.
I think he is asking about entire headlight housing, not just bulbs.Common topic. Lots of info.... Search function is your friend.
Several use Philips HIR2. Some Silverstart etc. Unless you modify your reflectors, going the route of HIR2 has helped. There is a slight mod (cutting off one edge of tab a little to fit into the housing). I have multiple sets and after mod, works on Camry, Avalon, Odyssey, etc.
Other options such as LED, etc are YMMV.
Thanks, I'll check with local dealer if they will price match to avoid shipping costs. They just earned my business by price matching Bernardi when I replaced the axles, I like supporting our local guys when they're good.Stick with OEM. I replaced mine a few years ago. Bought genuine Honda headlights from Majestic for about $200 each. Not much more than aftermarket.
Remember Bernardi has free shipping on most items however their prices tend to be a little higher than Majestic‘sThanks, I'll check with local dealer if they will price match to avoid shipping costs. The look good but the beam pattern may be weird.Has anybody had good luck with non-OEM headlights for their 2005-2010 Odyssey? I've found some via Amazon for ~190/side, but no reviews available on how well those housings/lenses have held up.
Do you have a favorite for a film? The look good but the beam pattern may be weird.
I would clean up the OEM headlights and apply film over them to prevent fading again. Spray on clear coats don't work.
Tried lamix-x today...trash. Xpel is good.Do you have a favorite for a film?
So Xpel does not have a headlight kit for our cars, I'm guessing you bought it in bulk and cut it? Which product of theirs do you recommend? And how much would you recommend? Is it hard to work with and cut properly?Tried lamix-x today...trash. Xpel is good.
Contact a local car wrap/PPF shop. 3rd gen headlights are hard to wrap due to design. So Xpel does not have a headlight kit for our cars, I'm guessing you bought it in bulk and cut it? I followed that thread, no need to replace the lights after that. (Thanks to @kaimanson for posting that DIY)Here's a thread on how one member put film on his headlights. Headlight Restoration - 3M Scotchgard Clear Bra Paint...
Happy to help, get those 3M films and you should be good for a few years. Head gun and patience are key to get that wrap on the Gen. 3 done, 80% of the headlight is easy, the hard part is the top corner, mine didn't came up perfectly on the corner but 95% of the surface is perfect, but with a heat gun you should be fine. i did a video on a Ford Edge, it didn't require too much heat though. Like Ranger said, reach out to a car wrap shop and maybe they can get it done for u. Even though the material is quite different to car wrap, the process is almost the same.I followed that thread, no need to replace the lights after that. (Thanks to @kaimanson for posting that DIY)
I need to get the 3M film, but initial result is great, about 45 minutes to get the lights to this stage. Even took a few seconds to remove most evidence of a parking lot mishap...
