can a vacuum from an older model be placed in a 2022 odyssey elite?

My wife and I had a 2018 and traded it for a SUV but with fostering and having 4 kids of our own we need another odyssey. We are picking up a 2022 elite tomorrow but realize it doesn't have the vacuum (because of the plant going out of business) but I was wondering, if I find a wrecked 18 or newer with the vacuum could I add it to the 2022 elite?

Yes you can, but it's not easy or cheap.

My wife and I bought the Wyze vacuum and love it. Easily stores in the trunk of the van and charges via USB-C.

The vacuum cleaner is worthless for the front row seats, the hose is just not long enough and you have to pass the hose under the1st and second row seats. I'v only used ours once and it is not that powerful. I would recommend a portable vacuum cleaner that you can leave in the van, perhaps even a wet/dry one.

I would never buy a built-in Ody vacuum. Way too weak for me when I tried one at the dealer. Plus, as others have said, there's enough battery drain issues with 2018+ Odys that it doesn't make sense to add more battery drain for a built-in vacuum.

I have a Ridgid 9 gal, 18volt, cordless shop vac that I bought from Home Depot for $119. Came with 1-7/8" diameter x 7 foot hose, 3 accessory tips and 3 straight extensions. Does not come with a battery or charger so I had to buy those separately.

It is a very powerful shop vac. The suction and blowing power matches my corded shop vac that died. Couldn't ask for more suction or blowing power. I use it to blow sawdust on the floor out of our carport after I do some wood working. Much better than sweeping the floor. Use it to vacuum our 2019 Ody EX and it does a great job at that. It's a joy not to have to manage an electrical cord while doing those chores. Is worth every penny and I could NEVER go back to a corded shop vac.

When my Craftsman oscillating multi-tool died, I bought a Ridgid 18 volt multi-tool since I had the Ridgid battery and charger. That multi-tool is very powerful and cuts through 20 penny nails like butter. Much faster than the Craftsman multi-tool that died. Probably because the oscillating back & forth travel is greater than the Craftsman's was.

Bottom line, consider buying a powerful vacuum cleaner instead of a built-in Ody one.
