i have a 2013 Honda Odyssey ex-l. I have had vibration issues which has led me to changing all the engine mounts as well as the axles. The front mount was changed out first followed by all the rest probably 6 months later. Within about a week after the mounts were installed I realized the rear mount was defective and mount was replaced under warranty. It took me several months to find time to install new one. 6+ months later I am now getting a clunk sound when letting off of the throttle. Sometimes it will only occasionally do it but other times it will clunk every time you let off throttle. Occasionally it will make what sounds like the same clunk sound when turning. I have tried checking all the bolts and they all seem tight but I can’t find the actual torque specs anywhere. If anyone has the engine mount bolt torque specs I would appreciate it. I have checked ball joints, tie rod ends and wheel bearings. All seem to be tight. The end links and sway bar bushings seem tight but I am not real sure how to check those. If anyone has any ideas of what may be causing this clunk I would really appreciate it.

What brand mounts did you replace with? Is your VCM disabled?

The end links and sway bar bushings
link kits its a grab them with your hands and pull and shake them if they pop off they are effed.

what about your control arm bushings? did you get a prybar in between the control arm and the frame and check for any play?
I had a clunk on an acura that took a while to solve, it was the metal sleeve inside the lca bushing that had separated.

did you change the active mount?

I don’t feel any play in the end links when I grab and shake them. The control arm bushings are starting to crack some and show some signs of age. I used a pry bar but don’t see much play in them. When checking them should the bushing mounted vertically not have any horizontal play but ok to have vertical play? Then the horizontal mounted bushing can have horizontal play but no vertical play?

when it happens can you feel the clunk in the body?

i wonder if you're hearing a torque converter lockup clunk when it engages/disengages?
or a sketchy pressure switch.
you have the 5 speed for your year, curious if this is a known issue on the gen3 5 speed?

whats your AT fluid maintenance intervals like?
When it clunks I can feel it in the floor board. I changed the fluid every 30k for the first 150k on the van. I did notice around the 160k the fluid had a slight brownish tint to it so I did a 4x drain and fill over the course of a week or so and am going to change it every other oil change. I have recently started adding lubegard platinum when changing the fluid. The van has 173k on it now. As far as the pressure switch goes I do occasionally get a fairly harsh shift. I believe it is usually from 3rd to 2nd.

what brand axles? the problem cropped up after they were changed.

may be related or a misnomer.
I am not sure what brand axles were used. I do know they are not the oem. The axles were replaced with aftermarket and within a year there was a lot of vibration and the axles were replaced under warranty. I have noticed if I am facing downhill and put it in reverse when I push the gas there is an occasional loud pop sound although it is a different sound from the clunk. Not sure if that is normal or not.

I suppose the next step is to check the inner and out cv joints for excessive play.

one of the lads here did a nice job documenting the procedure, which escapes me now but should be found easily with a search.
I have not found the thread you are referring to yet. I will see if I feel any play in them today.

Did you ever find the issue? My 2016 just did this tonight with 86k on it. I let off the gas, flat road, driving straight, at maybe 30 mph and BANG. Definitely felt it in the floor, and it was very loud. I was barely on the gas at all before letting off to coast into my driveway. Prior to this, we have had a similar noise after reversing, then going back into drive, followed by accelerating. That time, the noise only occurred after getting on the gas.

No I never did resolve the issue. The clunk became intermittent for a little while and at this time now we have not heard the clunk for a while.
