Sad story, but I left my sunroof open in a huge rain storm last night.

I spent a lot of time vacumming the car and setup fans inside and most of the carpet seems to be drying just fine and the lazy susan well, which filled up with water is also drying out.

The leather seats....they seem to very very wet back in the crease between the bottom and back of the seat. All the water must have run back in there.

Any thoughts as to how to dry out the seats?? Seemingly if I wait for them to dry on their own it might get moldy....

Also, the seat portion of the front seat. It seems like the leather has gotten loose....any way to fix that?

I would open up the moon roof if you have a sunny day and try to let the seat air dry it, or take a blow dryer and set it on low and blow at it for abit. Don't forget to close the moon roof afterwards though! :stupid:

You can remove the 2nd row seats and put them inside of the house, preferrably in the heating room.

We had a water tank on the toilet break and it soaked our carpet. We went to a home renovator and borrowed (free) an air mover (big fan). Worked wonders quickly.

Sorry that happened hackorsack.

This is one of my own greatest fears as I use the moon roof often.

Maybe recline all of the seats fully while drying to expose more of that crease where the water pooled.

Well, the carpet has pretty much dried up...

Seems that parts of the front leather seats are still damp.... Is it worth bringing it into a body/detail shop to have them try to get the leather seats dry? What could they even do?

Also, the seat portion of the drivers seat, it seems that the leather now has gotten very loose and is not nearly as "tight" as the leather was.... Is this something can be fixed by removing the leather cover?

Thanks.

Good advice..My buddy just did this to his BMW a few months back and I got the 911 call from him.

I would remove as the seats as well and put them in the house..Do not set wet leather in the sun.

If you can get the carpet up...I would hang it in the sun until completely dried. Let the van sit with all the windows open to air dry. be sure to condition the hell out of the seats

How easy is it to remove and reinstall the front seats? Is this a week long deal to get them to dry inside?
History would tell me 4 bolts and plug or 2 per sear. It could take a while depending on how wet the seats are
