The other day in heavy traffic I had to slam on my brakes. HARD like the kind of thing where some of the cars in front of behind have to turn their wheels to avoid pileup. Thankfully I was able to stop but my VSA light and the triangle exclamation point appeared along with the check engine. Forcing me to turn off the engine and restart(cue traffic behind me blaring horns)

I went to Auto Zone and got this read out.

Thinking it was all due to the abnormal situation I didn't give it any mind, the check engine light soon disappeared.

Four days later, after a front end alignment, I go to pull into a parking spot when the van starts to shudder a bit and all of those lights appear again. That was yesterday. I drive a bit today(Thanksgiving) and have no issues until at a gas station getting ready to go into reverse to back into a spot.... Same thing... Obv with the holiday I can't go to AutoZone to see if I'm getting the same codes and advice.

Not sure if it matters but I don't have any VCM muzzling equipment.

Anyhow, I don't really understand what the VVT pressure switch is, where it is located, or how it relates to the rest of the engine....

Do these glitches when I'm going super slow about to pull into a parking spot sound like they could be related to a VVT pressure switch?

The whole VSA system is a bit more complex than I'm used to, I don't know if that's good or bad with such an old van. Any information or knowledge shared on this would be greatly appreciated!!

**edited post after realizing some of my acronyms were incorrect VSA, VCM, VVT🙄

You have a battery code. Check on your battery first.

The battery is almost new... Likely the connections aren't tight enough. I had to remove it recently for a fan repair, I'm not the best at getting those terminals nice and snug.

I'm not as worried about that as I'm fairly certain that's the cause. Unless your suggesting it could fix my other issue???

I'm worried about this shuddering while parking and vvt switch issue because I need to go back to finish state inspection and I'm past the 1000 mile mark, so I have to get a full inspection again. I don't want to have any new issues.

If you SEARCH on either of the battery codes on here, you will see that the very first advice people get is to resolve the battery codes. Clearly, you have a Battery High Voltage code and then your P2647 also says the rocker arm pressure switch voltage was HIGH. Both seem to be related.

So. Do yourself a favor and cure the battery issues first and foremost.

Battery issues are not something you ignore just because you think you know the cause. You need to actually resolve that first and then see what issues remain.

Okay, will do, didn't realize it should be higher up on my priority list 😳. I'm about to switch out some dead bulbs so I'll go ahead and take care of that now!

I did assume all the codes thrown were the result of the unusual breaking I did just before the print out. It was so hard everything flew to the front of the van. I thought most was a one off.

I never got a second reading the next time the light showed cuz of the holiday hours of the store. So I don't really know if those codes would have shown up again.

Whatever the case my battery definitely needs some tightening down so I'll take care of it now!

I guess I didn't think about them still being an issue since I never did get a second reading.

One relating just to the shuddering.

The initial reading was after unusual breaking, so I attributed the battery issues to the incident. At least once the light disappeared.

Sometimes my logic is way off🤷 still learning. Well really just starting to learn in the last 2-3 years, before that I would pass it off to a guy(friend, significant other, stranger at a shop) finally decided to stop that and take responsibility of my property.

Anyway, I'm about to tighten things down now!!

Mk finally got the codes read again. Only the P2647 rocker arm remains.... However this auto zone had a far simpler code reader....

I'm only having these shudder issues when I'm driving very slow, as in trying to park in a spot, no foot on the gas, barely breaking of breaking at all... Especially if at an incline.

Not sure if that means just the vvt pressure switch needs to be replaced as suggested in the first read out, or......

Thoughts??
