Attemp at purchasing an outside mirror glass

2023 Ody Elite
My wife clipped a mailbox, dislodging/ breaking the passenger mirror glass.
As the dealer would require driving 30 min (each way) twice, I tried google.

AutoZone offered two mirrors, one heated, one unheated. Turns out there is a third option (maybe the camera, maybe the sensor for side traffic - I don't know). Fortunately AutoZone was easy to work with and accepted it back.

Strike two, eBay had what appeared correct - a heated mirror with an additional connector. They were vague in what years it fit - unfortunately it only fit up to a 2022 Ody - NOT a 2023 (different electrical connectors). I found that surprising - that's why I'm posting this notice.

I suppose after dealing with this for several weeks I now need to buck up and travel, plus reach deeply into my wallet.

Online dealers such as Bernardi or Majestic can ship it, With the VIN they should be able to ship the proper glass for your Elite.
Searching the u-pick can often be fruitless. I've rarely found current gen or even the previous gen in my local yards.

I recently went through this with my Focus ST. The side mirror glass had a scratch when I purchased it, and I lived with it until I tried polishing it out, only to find I ruined the glass while doing so. I ordered a replacement from an online Ford dealership and replaced it myself. It's not difficult, but you have to know where to pry in order to replace it (I'm sure you can find a DIY tutorial on Youtube). Also- if you are really rough on the panel- you can break it while removing it- but since yours is already broken- you don't care about that. To install the new glass, you match up the connector and press it in until it snaps in (so much, much easier... the hard part is getting the glass out). If I were doing this project- I'd order from an online Honda dealership (I would not buy a cheap generic mirror) and replace it at home.

@Wrascal
When asking a question about your ODY, please state the year and type; 2018 Elite.
If you have a heated mirror there should be 3 wires. 2 of them is for the heated mirror circuit, and the third on is for auto dimming. There is no internal sensor or camera in GEN 5 ODYs. Here is a pdf that shows what is what to remove the outside mirrors and the part numbers for either a plain Jane passenger mirror and a heated passenger mirror.

Notice that the mirrors are labeled 6 & 12. You have to look at the passenger mirror, shows on the web sites as the complete mirror housing, however if you select the mirror housing (pay no attention to the color as you want to just purchase the mirror) then select the area that shows the parts blow out, you will see 2 numbers for the mirror and scroll down to that number and you will see the mirror! I generally use Hondapartsnow.com for pricing and to see the parts. Be careful with the prices, as some times they do not give the current price due to inflation going up, only way to know is to select for the cart and get ready to order and the current price shows-up.

Thank you all for trying BUT

the exact above mirror was tried (now sitting on my desk) Unsuccessfully. It fits up to a 22 Ody but NOT the 23 Ody. The sensor wire has a different connector than the prior 22 version.

The couple of online Honda sites I've tried only search up to a 22 Ody, not the 23 (and now a 24). NOR will they accept my VIN number. I'm hoping that these places will eventually update this page and I can then order it.

As a jury rig I believe I'll attach the 22 mirror and not connect that harness (but yes connect the heated side).

And thank you for the info that the harness is for the auto dim feature.

In pic the upper 3 wires are in the mirror case; the black connector is whats on the mirror (car white oval vs black box shape on mirror).

Sorry, I no longer have the paperwork. The seller chased info down and that was his explnation.
I've also now discovered the glass is larger in the 23 Ody and the mounting spots are different.

One day I'll actually visit my dealers parts department. Face to face vs phone call.

I'm starting to think you didn't get an odyssey glass to begin with.
I guess that is a possibility, but it did have the same silhouette - just not as big once held inside the cavity.

If you have a Honda online site that offers 2023 and above parts (not those abbreviated sites that only offer a handful of parts) then please post it here.

Have you tried a auto glass company, I bought a heated one back about 1998 For a Saturn, they cut it to shape and glued the plastic back bracket on it (new). Glass Dr., or anyone else?
