Is there any parts out there in the first gens that are usable on the second gens. Scrap yard doesn't currently have my year in and I was wondering if I could get lucky.
So you’re asking about that in the third gen forum then? 😁

Totally different body styles, and 4 cylinder inline vs. V6. Wheels were interchangeable. Even the 1st with siding doors 99-04 have a lot of different parts from the 3rd Gen '05-'10. But 2nd Gen wheels do not fit the 3rd Gen.
Now speaking from actual experience: I moved a lot of my interior LEDs from my '96 1st Gen to my '99 and then '02 2nd Gens. Bought a new set for my current 3rd Gen '07, but transferred the LED panel that I used in my '96 to my '07 rear cargo light. And I liked my '02 visors with the slide out panel so I installed it on my '07.
And it does help if you post your year and trim! And what part(s) you're desperately seeking!

Yeah, it does help lol. It's actually for my dirt guards on my '08 daily Honda Odyssey. They have been missing since I bought the thing and I have went this long with out buying them. So, and also to mention it's the ex-l trim. You know your cars, y'know what it looks like.

So let's see, you have a third gen that needs parts, and you are asking if first gen parts will fit a second gen?

Since they're just mud guards, try them. You can pull them from a different gen and test fit on a 3rd gen if they have one in the yard. Could be that they will fit good enough, might have to re-do the attachment screws to match the location on your van.
For '05-'10 mud guards fitting your '08, I suspect they all will- checking one of the online Honda parts sites should confirm with the 'fitment' info.

Well I was trying to ask if there was any parts that could fit my car, because the parts on mine doesn't do sufficent coverage. And the junkyard doesn't have the current car on hand. They are mud guards.
Mud guards? That’s what this strange thread has been all about? I wouldn’t bother with them. Do you really think you need them?

Speaking from experience, mud guards do not prevent those fenders from rusting out. I'm trying to prevent that on my '07 by applying POR (?) rust prevention to the inside of my body panels.
I did add front mud guards to my '07 for the looks. Haven't found rear ones yet.
