have tested both sets of keys... can unlock, lock and do everything as usual, except that when i press the lock twice it does not honk the horn as it used to. nice feature when you are trying to find the van in a parking lot, but mine isnt working now.

had the battery replaced recently is the only thing i can think of that has changed. not sure why the remote locks/unlocks would still work, but not the horn honk feature.

do i need to reprogram the remotes? or, other ideas?
(if i need to reprogram, anyone have the "how to" for an '05 ody?)

thx... and happy holidays to all !!

Is the hood left open a smudge cause I think I remember if you left it open it arm the alarm or are any of the other doors open. If you open the sliding doors does it show on the dash that it is open?

nope- everything is closed.
the remote lock and unlock works...
so one click is fine
its when you do the lock and then the second click on the lock that used to make the horn blow... thats what doesnt work now.

I have the '05 Touring. and it has the Multi-Information Display which also contains Customize Menu/Setup features. Within the Setup features is one where you can disable the Keyless Lock Acknowledgment feature (starting on page 109 of my Manual). Does the EX have any sort of customized setting for this? Or is it solely for the Touring. Do the lights fail to flash as well?

One of the lock sensers is not signaling the control unit it is cleoed. While I don't have the diagrams for the 05+ the alarm circuit is probably about the same. On a previous second gen thread I listed all the sensers that make up the alarm. Any of the closed switchesnot showing closed will keep it from alarming. Any door or the hood not completely closed witt cause it. The door will lock but the alarm won't set. A common one is the hood switch. The only way to find it is to test all the switches.

+1 that is exactly what I was trying to say but you said it better. Maybe one of the sensors have ice on them or frozen.

maybe one of the horn is blown? i recall seeing two horns when i removed my bumper to install a grille guard.
also does the panic button work?

makes sense...
i looked under the hood and noticed that a recent body repair must have involved the hood (no idea why they had to go there to repair a scratch on the side of the car!!). several parts under the hood had not been put back together right. i fixed those, but do not know where the alarm sensor is for the hood latch.
can someone help me with where the hood sensor is located?

Did you resolve this issue? I had a similar issue where my 2006 Odyssey touring would first honk when remote pressed twice, then it would not lock from the remote (remote battery not an issue) but would lock with the key. After a couple of days it started to lock again from the remote but randomly the alarm would go off anywhere half hour to many hours later until I unlocked it with the remote. While unlocked alarm doesn't go off.

I thought it might be a sensor issue, took it to the honda dealer and they think it's a water leak into the under driver's dash fuse box. I'm kind of confused by that because there is no alarm fuse in there (although there is one for the lights and the sliding doors) but they are not next to each other and everything else in the minivan works perfectly.
