Well,
I was just washing car.... opened door to dry roof. crack, pop, bump, beep.
It looks like the rear door support used to have two guide wheels. I say used to b/c the front one is gone... just the bare metal post the wheel rotated around is left.
Anyone know how to get this part off?
My thoughts are:
1) remove body trim panel
2) support rear of door w/ jack and protective barrier in order to prevent scratching paint.
3) replace rear door support. If I'm careful, it will grab onto the drive cable at same place and still be in "calibration".
I did some searching and found that the 99's had door latch recalls. I believe that's this part I'm talking about? If so, I may be in luck if previous owners didn't get recall filled.
Other searching hasn't turned up any instructions to help. Has anyone tried removing the sliding doors?
edit: Of course, I could just be the only one that is too cheap to spring for a manual. That may change Monday. Dealer parts dept decided they didn't want to work Saturdays anymore. :stupid:
