ipod on '03

My LX has a tape deck (I also have the Honda CD player). A cheap way to listen to the ipod is to buy a cassette adaptor from Radio Shack. The adaptor goes in the cassette slot and is attached to a cord that connects to the ipod. Works great and the cord is long enough so the ipod is on the center tray.

2003 EX Ipod and factory DVD

I know this has probably been asked before. But, can you hookup the iPod interface on a 2003 EX with a factory DVD installed? I use one of these in my 03 Civic SI (Yes, the Ody's mini me) and it works great.

for simplicity we have always used an FM transmitter available at any of your big box retail stores on the cheap, plugs into the headphone jack or any 1/8th inch audio out and sends it to 1 of 4 predetermined stations.

we use it on laptops, MP3 players, nice and simple and just works.

Yeah, I have tried several of those (Belkin and another) problem is our area is flooded with radio stations or on trips you have to change the channel so we never get a "good" sound.

This is my wife's van and she will not deal with the transmitter. If we could just plug into an interface and not have to make any settings would be better.

I know it's an old thread, but it seems like a good place to add my "me too". I just installed this aux adapter in my 2004 EX-L-RES. It has a mini-plug connector and an ipod 30pin connector, and connects to the CD Changer input. It doesn't interfere with the factory systems, including DVD. I tore apart a lot of the dash to try and figure out how I wanted the wires routed, but ended up going the simple route. I ran them down to the little storage cabinet above the power outlet. The cables store in that compartment when not in use, and I can even close it with my iphone in there as well if I want.

I did get a little bit of ground loop noise when using the mini-plug to listen to my iphone this morning, so I'll have to try not using the charger, or switching over to the ipod connector with a lightning adapter. Still, for the $35 I spent on this, it is a good product, simple to install, and probably the one add on I'll get more use out of than any other.

Small update -- I ended up re-routing the wires to come out above the radio for connection to my phone in a window mount. For the moment, the aux wire is tucked behind the dashboard, until I get around to ordering a decent looking panel mount jack for it.

The ground loop noise was definitely a result of charging the phone while connected to the aux input. Removing the charging cord cleared the issue right up. Also, using the ipod connector (with a lightning adapter) instead of the stereo mini-plug cable works perfectly, charging the phone while also playing audio through the stereo.
