I'm getting conflicting information on what size to use for the rear wiper replacement (ours tore). Valeo says to use a 14"; Trico says to use a 16"; Amazon shows an 18" also fitting. What have people used successfully (and still provides full coverage - I would guess the 14" Valeo would not cover as much of the windshield)?

Thanks

This is one of those things that believe it or not the dealer is the most economical solution. List price for the rear wiper insert (blade) is $5.28. Cheaper than any aftermarket option and very easy to remove the insert and put the new one in. Heck, list on the complete blade and stabilizer is $12.65 if you need it due to a plastic tab breaking. A total bargain and you know you have exactly what you need.

Thanks. Should have been obvious (to me) to just take a tape measure outside. 16 inches. But that's great advice on just replacing the insert. Ill do that.

thanks!

This may be different for the 4th generation but I took my son's 2006 in for an oil change and told them to replace the rear wiper blade while they were at it. They didn't have one to fit and when I went to check, the rear blade uses a different diameter pin and comes with a R designation.

Took it to the dealer for an oil change and the dealer didn't have the wiper blade insert? Or took it to a quick change? If the dealer didn't have it then it was due to an inventory shortage rather than not available because I have never gotten a rear wiper insert anywhere but the dealer for my '06.

I should have been a little clearer. It was at a quick change place and it was pretty amusing to watch 3 "techs" standing around for a good 5 minutes trying to figure it out.

As I suspected. While most wiper blades are easily replaced with a generic replacement, the rear one on the Ody is not that simple, though the very cost effective availability of the blade or the arm and the blade from the dealer takes the sting out of it IMO.
