I just got bought a 2014 ex-l with res and I'm new to this site. I'm trying to connect my iphone to the res using apple av composite cable to play itune video with no luck. I also tried to connect my son's Xbox and notice no power. So I tested the ac outlet with an alarm clock and that doesn't power either. The engine is running and I already checked the fuse in the rear fuse box. Is there some sort of on/off switch?

Please help?

See page 185 of the 2014 Odyssey owner's manual:
The AC power outlet can be used when the engine is running. Open the cover to use it. Plug in the appliance slightly, turn it 90° clockwise, then push it all the way.

I checked both fuses and replaced. Still no power. How about the RCA component? Do you think they are somehow connected? I tried connecting my digital camera since it does not require a power source and still no video feed either. It's like the whole panel is not working and useless. I'll keep searching but it looks like a trip to the dealer is needed. This is brand new car too so it's wierd that it doesn't work.

Well, if its a 2014, it should still be under the full bumper to bumper warranty. If you checked the fuses etc, the only next option is to take it in and then report back what it was. You paid for new car and it comes with a warranty. Use the warranty. It might be the panel is not plugged in or a harness issue as you have covered the basics.

I'm making some progress. I managed to pull out the power outlet by lifting the cover and pulling on it. It took time cause I was scared of breaking it. I used a cell phone pry bar which I had from changing the digitizer to unclip the gray outlet from the blue fuse housing. I stuck my fingers in the opening and was able to locate and pull out the wire with the green connector. So I connected it and now there is power from this outlet. I'm still trying to figure out how to pull out the aux jacks as there is nothing to pull on. This is probably not plugged in as well. Has anyone done this?

Yes the easy thing would be to go to the dealer but where is the fun in that. They probably give me some bs and collect money from the warranty repair.

Problem solved. Since I already had the power outlet out I was able to get the aux out by pressing on the two clips and pushing it out which I then proceeded to use a pry tool to slowing pull the whole unit out. Like the power outlet the green plug was not connected.

So now they both are working and my son is very happy enjoying watching movies from my iphone.

Glad you were able to solve your problem. Please contact Honda customer service and open a case on this issue. Explain to them what symptoms you experienced, what you found, and how you solved the problem. At least that way it will be documented and investigated, so corrective actions can be put in place.

I'm not sure how your Ody managed to leave the factory in that state, but let Honda deal with that issue.

Just saw this old thread and wondering if any one has had the problem of the ac unit working, but then all of a sudden quitting. I checked the fuse and it is good. I checked air pump I was using and it works fine on the front outlet. I will be taking my Odyssey into the dealer on Wed. to see if they can resolve the groan my back hatch has developed when it open and I will have them look at the AC unit at that time. Factory warranty runs out in 1,000 miles and I don't know if my extended warranty covers these items.
