My wife was driving this morning when the following thing happened - she had gone about a mile this morning and was stopped in traffic on a bridge when the engine suddenly stopped. All of the dashboard lights came on. She then put the car in Park, turned the car off and restarted the car. It restarted OK and made it OK to the destination.

We had an electrical issue last year and ended up getting a new Alternator and Battery then. All has worked fine since then. Has anyone witnessed this sort of thing? Could a stop like that happen when the car is moving?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Check that alternator that you installed recently. What you are describing is the symptom of a faulty alternator.

+1 for checking ignition switch. Mine stalled on my wife once and wouldn't start another time (just spun over). I was able to make it stall by wiggling the key. Hasn't happened since I replaced the ignition switch many moons ago.
