Basically the dear wife left the passenger window open the other day and we got an absurd 4 inches of rain as it stormed all night long. I have taken care of everything, but the sound to the speakers no longer works. The Cd player does, DVD, etc -- even the kids can watch the DVD player with headphones (so I know audio is getting pushed somewhere).

Is this something simple? Someone told me an amp, but I cannot find one anywhere, and do not see anywhere online where I could purchase one. I am no audiophile, but I am cheap -- and taking to a dealer to repair is not an option. ANY assistance of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I called crutchfield to order a new stereo and was told my DVD player will cease to work if I go with a different stereo... SO now I am on the hunt for a new or used OEM. Found a few on uneedapart looking at salvage yard ones. Do I just need one from a 2004 EX model, or is the unit specific to EXL-"RES"...
