The internal ICs that drive the speakers might have gotten fried. The headphone circuit I believe gets the audio from the PreAmp and then the Amp ICs amplify the signal to drive the speakers. I am by no means an audio tech but I think you might need to get a new radio (used from Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market would do I suppose).
