I did a lot of searching and have somewhat of an idea for my suspension.
The ride on my 04 is pretty dicey and noisy. I have 110K on the car.
It just feels somewhat out of control. Thinking of replacing the struts
and shocks and maybe sway bar links. I want to use KYB GR2's. What is
the difference between the the excels and the oem? What other
recommendations are there...any tips on installation...seems to be pretty
difficult...but I've replace just about every component on cars I've
owned thru the years...including engines and transmissions...but never
really did any major work on the Ody.

Here's a link to some good info on replacing struts and shocks, as well as an opinion on the KYB (firmer than OEM). The rear shocks are pretty simple to replace. The front struts are more involved, but easier if you replace the complete assembly. You get all new parts plus you don't have to wrestle with compressing the spring.

+1 on replacing the whole assembly. I went this route on mine, pretty simple when it's all one piece. I went OEM but I think there's a post on here mentioning an aftermarket assembly. You'll probably have to replace the stabilizer links too and may be worth looking at the lower arm bushings, those will be my summer project.

BTW, Autopartscheap.com seems to have the best OEM price.
