Curious if anyone's seen this type of behavior. We're leaving on a long road trip soon and thus are more sensitive than normal to the prospect of any serious mechanical issues.
Our '05 Ody has ~60k miles. In the last week or so both my wife and I noticed that when in D the car sounds like it's in the next higher gear. It'd be just like when you accidentally pull a gearshift one stop too far, except the RPMs look normal. That is, the engine doesn't rev high, it just sounds like it's high. And probably not a full gear high, instead it's just *a bit* higher than your ear is expecting.
Any theories? I'm not opposed to taking it in to check it out, but I'd love to know if it's a common phenomenon or if there's a simple fix.
Thanks, everyone!
