'11 CX-9 vs '11 ody

Hey.

I just checked on the minivan comparison if someone already had this question but none. ANyway I don't know where to put these thread, so mr. dvpatel... ahemmm..

OK. I want to post this on '11 gen owners so I can have more feedback. I bought my EX last memorial in a heartbeat because my wife likes it very much. We never step-up to EX-L as we had a very unimpressed feel on honda leather quality (had an 08 CR-V EXL). So now just after 2 mos of ownership I think I'm getting tired of that ugly dash, cloth seat, not so good speaker system, lack of back-up camera, etc..

So, I want to know if there's somebody out there that actually tried/tested a CX-9 grand touring and ended up buying the 11 ody? any thoughts is appreciated.

Yep, I tested both the CX-7 and the CX-9.

The first thing I noticed was the very harsh ride over sharp bumps. Overall, the Mazda's were ok but nowhere close to the Odyssey in overall versatility and value. It was not a very close call at all. I did not find any thing in the CX-9 that I thought was substantially better than the Odyssey.

Have you tested the CX? If so, what did you like better about it?

One other thing, the back row is only good for very small children. I tried to get in back and found it extremely difficult to get in or out and there was no way I could sit back there.

CX-9 vs. Ody

Yes, we tested the CX-9 recently and loved it! The only problem was that we want to fit at least 6 people in and there just isn't much room. If we're going on a trip, there is hardly any room left for luggage. The Ody is not as sharp looking (says my 12 yr. old son), but we have decided to shop for an Ody unless someone has a better idea! Hope this helps!

I did not test drive it, i was there before to check out the mazda 3-- and kinda kust check out the interior--- it was really luxurious. We're a family of 4 (2 kids)- so we barely use the third row. Did u test drive the GRand touring? The standard list of equipment is so tempting.

momof7, did you end-up buying an ody or not yet? it looks like from ur post that the biggest let down on the cx-9 was the third row-- that's it? how was the drive-- did you feel like really driving a big suv or not really? the quality of materials used (i.e. dash/ leather seats/etc)?

I don't really want to go check the cx-9 'coz I might end up buying it:frown: and my wife will not like it. ohh, how the steering feel? (wife actually prefers the ody than our previous cars)
