I recently got a '02 ss EX-L RES. My question is, has anyone bought a VCP/VCR to put in the back and hook up to the AUX inputs? I ask because I have a ton of kids cassete tapes but very few DVDs. I would be interested in finding a stricly 12v VCP that plugs directly into the power source in the back of the van, so I don't have to use an inverter. Has anyone bought anything like this? If so what brand/model number, likes/dislikes? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a RES unit too and was wondering the same thing, I did find one in the alpine website but it was listed at $400. I think there are others out there, you might want to drop by your local best buy or circuit city. The only thing that i can see as being a negative is where to store all the VHS tapes.

I don't know how good this unit is, but there was a post on speaker uprade and a site that has real good prices and they have a car VCR- PLVCP Pyle Vcp for $179.99 with free shipping, you may want to check it out. The way i do research on this type of stuff is, goto google.com do a search on PLVCP Pyle Vcp and you may find lower price and sometimes a review on the product. Here is the site that has it for $179.99.

Wow, thanks for all the quick replys everyone!

Ken, I was worried about tapes too, but unless I'm going on a long trip, I would only need one or two in the van at a time. Also I wouldn't want to keep them in the van as they might melt. On a long trip the Ody would be loaded up, so a box of tapes stashed under a seat wouldn't be too bad.

Groupset, why do you want to sell? Not what you expected/too much hassle/didn't use often? Just curious before I run out and buy something thinking it is going to be great, but isn't.

JoesYum, Thanks for taking the time to check it out and find all sorts of prices and sites, I really appreciate it!
