I'm the original owner of a 99LX with 75,000 miles.
Whenever I go to the Honda dealer for service, they give me a list of recommended repairs.
One of the items that they listed recently was replacing radiator hoses, thermostat and gasket for approximately $400.
I'm not sure how much work is involved but that price seems really excessive.

If you are going to keep the van then yes those are good recommendations. I would buy the parts online though and have them installed at a shop.

The timing belt service with water pump replaccement would be a good time to replace the thermostat and hoses - save on coolant and labour.

On my '99 with 199k miles, owned and self-maintained since new, I replaced the thermostat and gasket with the 105k T-belt job. But the hoses are still original and look just fine. I have no plans to replace them until they look like they need it.

So I'd recommend asking why they think you need new hoses. Ask them to show you what they see.

The OEM thermostat is about $40, hoses about $20 each, coolant maybe $15. That leaves about $300 for labor, or about 3 hours. That's a generous amount of time, but not excessive. You could probably halve the bill by shopping online for the parts and then going to a garage where they charge the actual time, not by the book.
