We just recently purchsed a 2000 model with the buckets in the second row (new owner, they may all have buckets, I don't know) but there is no latch system. After talking a look at the owner's manual, I note that it says that the best place for babies (ours is 15 months) is the very back seat. Does anyone know of a way to get the seat SAFELY into the middle row. We are leaving to go on a long trip in a couple of days and it would be much more convenient to be able to use all of the cargo area, and have the baby closer to us as we drive. ANY advice would be helpful.

Latch anchors didn't come until the 2001 model.

You can install the seats using the seatbelts. The do have the locking feature (pull all the way out and it locks). Your carseat manual combined with the van's manual should get you there.

Don't know what they mean by the back row being safest. The 2nd row is the safest (and easiest to put them) for kids.
