Hi, my Odyssey is running fine, but the engine light came on so I went to AutoZone to have them evaluate and they came up with two codes;

P1457 emission ontrol system leak detected (control canister system)

Probable cause.
Loose fuel cap
Vapor canister saturated
Failed vent solenoid
Failed purge solenoid

Also P1676

signal line failure

Now the van has been running just fine no problems at all,
Now I did find that the fuel cap was not seated properly, it was loose
I removed fuel cap and re seated it shut, but engine light remains on.

If I had a emission problem would the vehicle be running smoothly?

Anyone have this problem? What can I do? is it possible to turn off engine light to see if the fuel cap was the problem?

Thanks

It will take several drive cycles before the light goes off. Give it a week or have someone turn it off.

Make sure that you twist the fuel cap back on with at least 3 clicks - otherwise you may get a code such as P1457. Clear the codes and wait to see if they come back in a few days - like mentioned above.
