2001 EX blower not coming on

2224 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Riggs Point
I have a 2001 EX and the blower won't turn on in the front for heat or A/C. I hear the A/C engage when I turn it on and I can get hot or cold air at any setting just fine in the rear.

My symptoms don't seem to fit the common blower transistor problems, but I'll be checking it anyway.

I've checked every fuse that looks like it might be related to the blower and not found a blown one.

I just paid to have the transmission rebuilt in this thing so I can't afford another expensive repair. I'm hoping its something relatively inexpensive and within my ability (not much)!

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

No other suggestions from me. I am betting that it's the transistor, which I guess you have read can be fixed for a few cents without replacing the entire assembly? Good luck.
The transistor is bypassed by the high relay so fan will run on high if transistor is bad. Does the fan come on when the blower is turned to high? If not you need to check at the blower for voltage with a voltmeter. Check the blower motor relay. Under hood fuse F56 feeds it. also check passenger F3. Does the condenser fan come on.
Mr Wiles, I hope you're well and still have an interest in these Odysseys. Our 2001EX A/C has suddenly stopped blowing cold, and stopped blowing at all except for intermittent high fan speeds. The control on dash feels like it's not connected to anything. I realize we may need a clutch or compressor but it seems that the blower resistor near the blower motor under glove box may have stopped working. Do you have the EX part number? I see 2 different inexpensive parts on ebay for this; one has three different size blades and one has only one.
