Ok so I have a 2001 ex-l with a VHS setup. I haven't been able to find much info on it. It is installed under the drivers side second row seat. It's an Audiovox brand. It has rca cables hooked to it and a square 4 prong plug with 2 wires attached to it.

I dug up some old tapes for the kids and I get picture but no sound. I read on the net that a lot of the older systems only use the car radio for sound. which I cant seem to find the right station if thats the case. And some of the others only work with the wireless head phones.

Does anyone know what radio station is supposed to play the sound? Or does anyone know if the 2002 indash dvd player will just plug into what I have and work? I assume that this is a dealer installed setup but I don't know enough about it to be sure.

The sound is most likely through an FM modulator that should turn on when you turn on the system. It tunes to a certain frequency - I would try 87-91 range in 0.1 increments.

As far as the in dash player from a 2002 goes, I doubt it would be plug and play. You are probably best off replacing the factory stereo with one that plays DVD's and wiring it into the screen.
