Has anyone taken a shot at integrating the Customer Acceptance checklists for 2011 or 2012 models specifically? I am getting an EX-L

I am sure some of the older check-lists are probably fine for 80% of what needs to be checked, but maybe there are some things (like TPMS programming) that needs to be checked specifically for 2011 / 2012?

I am looking at:
Printable Checklist
www.urvi.net

and contemplating how to merge the two into one definitive and up-to-date one for 2011/2012.

Does anyone have any ideas? am I over-thinking this?

Nope. You're not over thinking this. The first one you linked was for the 2nd gen. Alexmish then created the second one which I host. I in the past had solicited updates to it but I never received any updates/recommendations so it was never changed.

If you put together one, I can host it just like I host alexmish's copy. :)

2011 / 2012 CHECKLIST v1.0 -- DRAFT POSTED

I took a shot at updating the Acceptance Checklist (originally by alexmish) for 2011 (possibly 2012).
- Merged with some items from: http://www.odyclub.com/chklstprt.htm
- added 2011 TSBs as of 10/15/2011 and
- added relevant items from the PDI.

The current draft is here:

hey i am sorry if i sound new but is this list for a brand new purchase? and the dealers will just look up the TSBs? Also if they missed those TSB should a buyer demand them before delivery?

that list Nikg uploaded looks really complete but i am not sure if theres that much time to go through the list.

Like i was told the car is in their warehouse, how does one deal with that before doing all the paper work?

I had many of the same questions when i did my research reading through other threads before I bothered with the list. I am picking up my new EXL on Wed and already alerted the dealer that I will need an hour to go through the car, then test drive before signing the delivery papers. My take is I want to make sure I do my best to identify any issues up front and be proactive with the dealer before anything potentially may happen (like the TPMS improperly set up at PDI, as many have reported).

If anything, it's a good reference for me to know what worked and what the conditions of everything was when I picked the van up, before anything exterior or interior happens.

Dude...this is awesome! I already have my EX-L and loving it! But I wanted to comment and give you props here.

I still don't understand why people don't spend the same (if not more) time inspecting every nuance of a $30K+ purchase as they do on anything of lesser value! Everyone should be spending at least 1 hour inspecting their vehicle before taking delivery. And if possible, I'd also suggest bringing a friend who is detail-oriented so you have another pair of eyes because as the buyer, a lot of time you're rightfully focused on other details (like the financials, paperwork, etc.) at the same time.

Thanks Man. It took about 4 hours to integrate & update, but I think it will be worth it on the lot :) Happy to contribute back the knowledge I found on this board.

All I verify anymore at delivery is if the paint is in good shape, no scratches or dents and the interior is also free of defects. Other than that my dealer has always taken care of everything else as a courtesy or under warranty. You can always get TSB's checked at first service.

Seems like those with the most problems getting issues resolved after delivery just do not have very good relationships with their dealers. I would personally spend more time researching your dealer and finding out what kind of after sale service they provide. We have multiple dealers to choose from within 75 miles of us and I can tell you there are only two on the list that I would ever do business with (and have).

But if you have the time and patience to go over the checklist by all means knock yourself out. It certainly will not hurt anything.

Best Regards,

JD

Hi all,

I am picking up a new 2012 Canadian Touring, (TE in the states) in a month. I am wondering if some of the quality control issues highlighted in the acceptance check list have been resolved since this gen has been out a while.

Thanks
