Did anyone else find the removal of the stock 2011-2012 stereo somewhat rediculous? Removing most of the dash board just to remove the stereo seems a bit extreme.

Well if you really want iPod integration but bought a trim level that doesn't have it, then you might have to go to these extremes to install the adapter.

Just saying . . .

I understand this but why didnt someone at Honda say this is ludacris. Honda could have easily made a tub for the radio to sit in and seperate the center stack by sections so loosing the entire dash is not neccessary. What happens if you have a crack now you have to buy the entire dash board and at what cost? Much cheaper to replace a small panel. This kind of thinking makes aftermarket vendors go nuts.

Ah but you're missing the most important part. Designs like these help Honda's and their stealer's bottom lines. You break the panel, Honda and stealer makes money. You get the work done at the stealer, stealer charges more money as its now difficult to remove the darn radio. Both cases, win-win for both Honda and stealership.
