I am trying to deciding whether to get the NAV on a 2012 EX-L.

I really don't need the NAV but don't mind getting.

The Honda fact sheet seems to state that the audio system is upgraded with the NAV (246 watt + 15GB) is that correct or is the 246 watt + 15GB audio standard on the EXL?

Another way to ask the question is what is the standard audio system on the 2012 EXL without NAV.

I might want to go with the NAV if it also means a better audio system and larger disk.

Thanks

See the specs posted on the Honda website:

2012 Honda Odyssey - Specifications - Official Honda Site

Base model EX and EX-L come with a 229-Watt AM/FM//CD Audio System (with 7 Speakers including Subwoofer) and 2 GB of audio storage (CD Library).

EX-L (with Navigation) and Touring models come with a 246-Watt AM/FM/CD Audio System (with 7 Speakers including Subwoofer) and 15 GB of audio storage.

The 2 GB of audio storage is a new upgrade for EX models, which did not have this in the 2011 model. All the other models retain the same amount of audio storage space.

I think it all boils down to how much music you want to store on your van. If you use the estimate of 75-100 MB per CD, you're talking storing 20-25 CDs versus 150+ CDs worth of music.

All the speakers are the same exact models between the Navi and Non-Navi however, the head unit is certainly higher quality in the Navi model. I listened to both at the dealer and noted that the navi version had fuller and richer sound. I bought the non-navi EX-L and will be upgrading the stereo over the next few weeks since I was teased by listening in that one in the showroom. I'm putting in a 5-channel amp, and all new speakers.

You can see my post talking about the upgrade as a follow up on this tread:

I think the extra 15GB of storage is pretty worthless since you can just pop a USB stick into the USB port in the glove compartment. Then you get plenty of storage and can easily bring it back to your computer and copy files over to it. Or just buy an iPod, that's way cheaper than getting the navi upgrade.
