Decided to pick up a 220k mile Odyssey Touring, during inspection with mechanic, he notices a few things but the most deal breaker is the front and rear suspension, Please see attach pictures.

My question is he quoted me between $1100 for aftermarket and around @2000 for OEM Honda. With the price of the Van + misc repairs, I am looking at $8000, 4k for 230k van and 4k in repairs (timing belt, transmission 3x flush, Front and rear suspension, and a few minor seals, etc that I am capable of repairing.

Whats you opinion on the $1100 to $2000 on the suspensions? I will shop around, just wanted to ask forum members here about their experience.

That sounds about right. Maybe a little on the expensive side. The front struts will run you $300 or so each, with parts and labor. Rear shocks maybe $200 each. I'd expect a quote around $1K to replace all the struts and shocks.

With 220K miles, I'd use the aftermarket stuff. Be sure it's a quality brand though. KYB is recommended. Monroe is decent too.

In case you weren't already aware, it's strongly recommended on this forum that you stick with OEM Honda or Aisin parts for the timing belt.

Driving in between each of the transmission fluid drains and fills is recommended, as it helps to get the fluid mixed better. If you can drive a few hundred miles in between each drain and fill, or more, that would be more effective than doing 3x drain and fill consecutively.

With 220K, there's a few other maintenance items you might want to keep in mind. Disabling the VCM is very important. At 220K, you should really consider getting a valve adjustment done, and the spark plugs are due also.
