Greetings, all.

I tried searching for this topic, but could not find anything specific to the 2011+ Touring (Elite) models.

Our kids watch their DVD in the back with the headphones on. My wife and I (and the occasional rear passengers) always listen to a different source other than DVD. I re-read my manuals multiple times and it says that the factory default has the "Rear Speakers to On" when listening to different sources. I've tried to set Rear Speakers to On, switch the front source from our iPod to FM or XM, then switch back to the iPod, and the Rear Speakers reverts to Off. I even tried turning off the ignition switch and when I turned it on, got the 2 different sources going, again, I noticed that the Rear Speakers was Off, again.

Am I missing something here? Any help or tips would be appreciated. I find it a little annoying that we have to manually turn on the rear speakers to the front source every time we switch sources or turn on/off the van.

I am having the same issue.
I can't get sound out of the back speakers. I just want to play the radio in the entire van.
Was there any resolution to this?

So far I haven't been able to figure out how to get the audio system to play the sound on all speakers by default every time you turn on the ignition. If you look at your audio system's display, you'll notice that there's a speaker icon that's crossed out and it also says something like "RR Spkr Off" or something like that. If you hold down the audio system's "Rear Power" button until it beeps, it will output the front source in all of the speakers.

The next time I'm at the dealer, I'll ask someone knowledgeable if there's a solution to making the sound output through all speakers by default.

If your trying to play the radio through all the speakers make sure the DVD system is off (powered off).

Just to clarify, you can still listen to the front source through all of the speakers (front and rear) even if the DVD player is on. All you have to do is hold down the "Rear Power" button until it beeps and the "crossed out rear speaker" icon on the display is gone.

If the DVD player is on you also have the option of listening to it through the rear speakers in "Rear Theater Mode" in 5.1 surround sound assuming the DVD's soundtrack is encoded as such. Confirm that the Front Source is set to DVD, then fade the sound all the way to the rear and you'll activate this mode. Be advised, though, that the front speakers won't output the DVD's sound in this mode.
