Trim: EX
Price Paid (base + destination): $31,426
Price Paid (out of the door): $29,306.85 (includes $699 doc fee, $3000 positive equity from trade, $312 taxes and DMV fees)
Add-ons (if any): 60,000 mile maintenance plan, cargo tray
Exterior Color: Silver
Interior Color: Mocha
Date Purchased: 1/11/2020
State: NC

Wasn’t the lowest price I had found, however they went $750 beyond what any other Honda dealer would do on my trade (a 2019 Odyssey EX), plus threw in a maintenance plan and cargo tray at no cost and got me 2.9% thru Honda. Since NC only taxes the difference between sale price and trade value, this resulted in a $720 in tax savings. After test driving the 2020 a couple times, I found the 10 speed to be superior to the 9 speed.

They gave me a better offer without RES+NAV. But I am in NC, maybe that's the reason my OTD is only about 2.5K lower.

12 blue RES/NAV around 100 miles..the best was $36,889 and I pulled the trigger due to better KBB+ trade-in.

its about 34400, but I think a good base price does not guarantee a good OTD, some ask for a 700 service fee, others ask for 275.

How much do you guys think I can get a 2019 elite for that has been sitting on this lot for a loooong time? The MSRP on the elite model is 48,115 and they have a discounted price online for 44,251. This dealer told me they have dealer cash going on for 2019 models and I think I can get the price a lot further down. On a 2020 EXL with nav and res they offered me 35,232 + destination fee and tax.

Your 2020 price is ~$1500 less than what I could get. I had a trade in making it tricky

Total tax: $1032

Very smooth transaction. dealer is very responsive through text message. This is their first quote, I did not have time to bargain, just accepted it. They also offer $1800 (36 month installment) to extend the original Honda warranty to 10 years ($100 deductible if repair is not done in their shop). $599 for three year/ 36000 mile honda care.

This sounds like a great deal, especially without much negotiation with other dealers. I guess I benefit from no state income taxes in FL, but our sales taxes are really crazy when I compare the offer I received to your breakdown.

I'm closing in on a deal, and hope to complete it by the weekend. Let me know your thoughts.

2020 EX-L - Black/Mocha

Selling Price $33,688.45
BS dealer accessories package $799
Purchase $34,487.45
Doc Fee - $899.95 (damn you FL)
Taxable Fees - $106
Tax - $2,179.60 (again, damn you FL)
Non Tax Fees - $152
Net - $37,835

We are trying to get them to $37,500 before we consider whether or not we want to trade in our 2010 Honda Civic LX (which I hope will get us $3,000 and a few hundred saved on taxes). I've sold private party before so I'm comfortable with not trading in, but I if the difference is a few hundred dollars, I can save myself the headache. The accessories include cargo tray, mud flaps, door protection, nitrogen (seriously?), wheel locks, and security strips. Not sure what security strips are, but I was hoping they at least threw in the all weather floor mats.
