I fixed my original post, it was a bit confusing, but I meant we should see similar deals on 2020s once the stock of 2019’d are exhausted.
I've noticed that if you are looking for a specific trim level and the lot doesn't have it in a 2019, then you are more likely to get a decent price on that trim in a 2020. I've been able to get down to $35.1 on a 2020 EX-L off initial quote, and that dealer was out of 2019 EX-L's. The one's that had 2019's were trying to ask 38 for a 2020. If you want to buy now instead of waiting for EOQ or EOY sales then try hitting up a dealer with no 2019's in your desired trim.

Looking for some input, torn between a 2019 and a 2020 Odyssey Elite. I received a deal for a 2019 but another dealer came in and is offering the same model/trim but in 2020 for $1700 more (OTD price) - so my question is: is it worth a newer year for $1700 more?

Also, would it make sense to hold off and waiting a few more months for the 2020’s to come down a bit more or bite the bullet now? Not in a rush but have been looking for a few months.

FWIW, the selling price for the 2019 is about $5400 off MSRP and the 2020 is $4000 off MSRP.

Selling price before tax/title/fees:
2019: 42,749
2020: 44,400

Thanks everyone! I posted this to the 2019 forum too so hoping I can get some guidance, is the price fair? Should I move forward with it? Any input is greatly appreciated!!

A. I think $1700 is worth it for a model year newer at resale.

B. If you are not in a rush, I think the 2020’s will come down further.

$44,400 is inline with about 4 different dealers I got pricing from as well for 2020 Elite. 1 other dealer in my area gave pricing of $43,960.

Price Paid (base + destination): $42,281 (used USAA auto buying program)
Price Paid (out of the door): ~$47,627
Add-ons (if any): trailer hitch, hitch harness, Trunk liner, 2nd & 3rd row set covers, rails and crossbars, mudflaps, cargo bins, wheel locks, touch up paint
Exterior Color: Pacific Pewter
Interior Color: Mocha
Date Purchased: 10/4/2019

ETA: I used USAA auto buying program. However, when I requested an online quote from the website, that quote was only $100 more than USAA number. And this dealer did have 2019s in stock as well.

Thanks, did you want those accessories or were they already on the car?

I actually wanted all of those accessories. Nothing was on the car when I first looked at it on Wednesday. I requested all of the accessories listed and picked the car up 2 days later.
