I am looking to get a 2022 Touring - any suggestions on how to get price when I go to a dealer? art of negotiation??
Unless you relish the battle of in-person negotiations handling everything via email is recommended.

1) Pick a trim/color
2) Get a burner email account
3) Contact dealers (hardcore will go several hundred miles) with the trim/color in-stock. Typically there's a webform that links you to a salesperson who will provide a quote. Sales people really want to get you on the phone, stick to email.
4) Compare quotes
5) See which dealers are willing to match/beat the others
6) Pick a winner
7) Take in-home delivery if possible to skip the finance room
8) Post your sale to this thread

Just joined the Odyssey club! The inventory is limited, I’ve been trying to get a used van in white for a while—none were available. Even for new, only a couple of dealers had something in stock (out of 6-7 dealers in the area).

Price Paid (base + destination): $43,723.57 (this number was calculated to give us an out-the-door price we were seeking.
Incentives and Amount: Loyalty ($x), Military ($x), etc: we had loyalty and military incentives, as well as added discounts to compete with another dealer. The other amount “off” would be the $1971.06 we put down that was paid to us over our lease payoff, so that came off of the $43,723.57.
Price Paid (out of the door): $45,000 even
Add-ons (if any): tinted windows, Kahu connect-a-car, pinstripes, all-weather package/protection package (all weather floor mats, mudguards, trunk tray), nitro fill, clear protection package 2, paint pen, wheel locks. All added on by dealer when they got it in. Also got an oil change package and a comprehensive extended warranty to 100,000 miles because that should cover the 10 years we plan to keep it.
Exterior Color: Platinum White Pearl
Interior Color: Beige
Date Purchased: 5/20/21

I think I explained all of that accurately. We shopped with several dealers in 2 different states to get the best offer we could. We had a previous lease (I know, I know) to knock out negative equity on an impulse purchase from before. With what they’re offering on used cars, we got out of our lease a year early and got a little cash back to put towards this one. We’re happy!

Worked with five dealers via email. Only two were thoroughly responsive. Inventory was low. We had a 2014 LX with lots of impending maintenance (brakes, plugs, timing belt, tires) and a so-so body. Carvana gave us a solid offer on the LX. They picked it up and wrote the check – an impressive experience, start to finish. Our other vehicle is a 2019 Outback and we really appreciate its suite of safety features which our LX did not have.
