Hey guys, I have an 06 touring. Since I have 3 kids, I find it a pain to have to throw the eldest into the rear, then climb in the trunk to do his seat belt up.

Wondering if there is any option out there to convert the second row to that of the EXL which seats three....

I have black leather as well.

Thoughts?

Well to turn the captains chairs into a bench like the EXL, all you need to do is find a center seat and put it place. Getting the roof mounted seatbelt however, will be another story and people have tried to retrofit it, but I have not followed that thread long enough to know if it worked out or not. You are also going to run into problems in finding a black plus one seat since they were only available in 2008, 2009, and 2010 model Tourings. Have you tried moving the right seat to the center. I would think that would make it easier to access the third row.

I've had to do that sometimes too. Taking out the middle counsel and shifting one of the seats over does help.

Another option is to keep the small seat in the 3rd row laying flat and then enter through the back hatch to help buckle them in.

Either way may work...just figure out what works best for you.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies, and sorry for my late response.

Anyways, I was actually getting sick of this vehicle, and me and the wife were starting to think of getting a F150 Crewcab, HOWEVER, we just got the van detailed today, and WOW, does it ever look good inside and out. The interior looks new along with the carpet. Amazing what a littel carpet cleaning can do. I think we're gonna have this done every spring.

Anyways, blah blah blah. I think what I will try to do is put the twins in the very last row, remove one of the second row seats, and put my eldest in his booster in the remaining second row seat. This might be the best option and if successful (meaning better for us), then I will kick myself in the ass for not thinking of this a long time ago..lol.

Ok, enough babbling, thanks again guys.

(oh to stay on topic, i didnt even think of the seat belt thing, was just thinking of the middle seat)

One more comment: we also have three kids and the eldest, who is 6 1/2, buckles herself up in the back. That leaves the two small ones, 1 3/4 and 4 1/2, for us to buckle in the middle row.

Whatever the age of yours, it'll get better... :)
