9" or 13" tv/vcr?

853 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  silk
In Canada, we seem to have very few 9" tv/vcr models, but lots of 13" ones. Has anyone been able to use a 13" combo set?(without removing middle seats)
Also, maybe I'm slow, but does the flip-up tray (properly supported from beneath) not serve as a good base, if the unit is well secured? Problem is, we also don't have any stores that sell the Steel Horse mount. Guess I could try and order it. Comments appreciated.

I have a 9" unit (with the Steel Horse tote) and had debated on the 13" too. Now that I see how the 9" fits, I wouldn't try the 13". It' would just be too big, the 9" TV is too wide to go down to the flip table, the arm rests get in the way. Can you order the tote and the TV on line?

We love ours, it's a great solution.

We love it. It's a bit of a pain to get in the first time (poor instructions) but once you get it locked in it's great. It took me an hour the firs time, 5 minutes eafter that. Very secure and puts the TV just below the headrests. Set yous on the armrests adn you'll get a good ides, it's a bit higher than that.

The minuses are:

- Front seats must be in the same position front to back and seat back angle.
- No moving from the front to the rear on the move.

- Most 9" TV's have side firing speakers, so TV sound blasts either in your ear or the passenger's. Get a cheap set of battery operated computer speakers and put them back wth the kids to solve that one.
