Hello everyone,
Consumer Reports suggested against buying the '99 Odyssey because of numerous problems. I personally haven't really had problems other than just the initial sliding door problem, and the dealer performed the repairs in response to the recalls. It has 35,000 miles and runs great.
Did some of you '99 Odyssey owners have other problems with your Van?

Knock on wood, our '99 is just fine. We've had our share of annoyances, but I expected that from a first year model. Squeaky rear vent motors, alignment, crappy Firestones, loose brake pads, knocking A/C, and the occassional stuck power door. But I've had other first year models as well (Toyota Celica GTS, Mazda 626 & Protege, Hyundai Scoupe) and they all had their share of little things. That's also why I got the extended warranty on the Ody though - don't trust those doors to last to 100K miles by themselves.

As for the '99s in general, I believe there were definite problems in the early runs - late '98 through about March 99 VINs. They seem to have more problems.
