A/C pollen filter

I have a 2000 Odyssey EX. Has anyone changed the A/C filter in theirs yet? I took the glove box out and there is a bar across in front of where the filter goes. There must be a trick to it because it looks like I will have to remove the entire dash cover to get at it. Anyone know what the trick is?

WOW! You're actually supposed to cut it out and throw it away. I would have never guessed that was the standard procedure, although I did think about doing it last night.
