A/C pollen filter

I have a 2000 Odyssey EX. Has anyone changed the A/C filter in theirs yet? I took the glove box out and there is a bar across in front of where the filter goes. There must be a trick to it because it looks like I will have to remove the entire dash cover to get at it. Anyone know what the trick is?

Pollen Filter Instructions shows how to cut the bar out so you can get to the filter. Thanks Trevor for having all of the instructions online. They are a big help.

No sweat! Let us know how dirty your original filter is. I'd like to get an idea how much gunk is filtered. We have tons of pollen here in Houston. I'm wondering if a filter change will be a yearly thing for us.
