A few newbie questions...

I am considering a 2010 Ody EXL and have a couple in my sites(one with NAV the other w/o). However, I am not familiar with Hondas and so a bit confused on the options. I have tried searching but cannot find definitive answers. Wonder if someone could educate me?

1) I am not finding auto-on headlights and the salesmen seem all confused when I ask about it. Is auto-on available in the EXL trim level?

2) I also do not seem to be able to find gas mileage readout. Only on the Touring?

3) Do almost all Tourings come with PAX or is that an option?

1. im not sure about this one. sorry

2. Yes. Only touring has those mid that shows the avg mpg.

3. PAX discontinued starting from 2009 models.
At least with '06 the auto-on headlights was a touring thing...while my '98 GM van had it stock on all trims. There is a kit to retrofit what honda left out.
1. Only comes in the Touring
2. Only comes in the Touring
3. Discontinued in 2009
Thanks for the responses. So, if I stay with 2010, I will not have to worry about pax on the touring and get the auto-on headlights and mileage. I have been looking at the EXL because it is thousands of $ cheaper than the touring. I can not see paying thousands more just to get those two features.

I am looking at a 2010 EXL w/RES and NAV and 10k miles for $30k. It has the backup camera and power lift gate, heated seats that my wife requires. I guess I would have to retrofit the auto-on headlight kit. Does that sound like a decent deal?
Our 2007 EXL does not have auto-on headlights, but it does have auto-off headlights. We normally just leave the headlight switch in the ON position and the lights turn off 10 seconds or so after shutting off the engine and closing the doors.

That does not sound bad for '10 EXL-R/N van with 10K, Is it certified? Honda dealer? On a '10 all those features you mentioned are standard on the EX-L models.

Let us know what you do.

No, the van is not CPO. In fact, it is sitting on a Toyota lot. That is why (I think) they would like to dump it quickly. Making the Siennas look bad. ;)

So, payor, are you saying the '10 EXL should have auto-on headlights and mileage readout??
no both those features on Touring only.
Here are the touring features over the EX-L
We have a 2008 touring. I'll try to summarize what I know. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

1. You only get the 115 Volt AC power port and aux input if you have the EX-L w/ RES or the Touring.
2. The power tailgate is available on the 2009 and up EX-L models. 2008 was the last year of the manual tailgate on the EX-L. The Touring has it 2005+.
3. Comes standard with NAV+RES (You can get this on the EX-L but some don't have one or the other or both.
4. Memory seats that are linked to the remotes. For example if I unlock the van and open the door the driver seat and outside mirrors automatically adjust for me without having to press anything. (Super nice).
5. Front and rear proximity sensors. I think the EX-L with NAV has the rear but not the front.
6. Programmable information display. This allows someone to customize the van and what it does like when the doors lock/unlock, when to automatically reset the trip, change the way the intermittant wipers work, etc... It also gives more information like average gas mileage, etc...
7. The touring has fog lamps standard.
8. Auto headlamps
9. Auto tilt down side mirrors when van is put in reverse.
10. Larger diameter wheels.
11. Different suspension tuning.
12. Power Adjustable Pedals.
13. Auto dimming rear view mirror (Is this on the EX-L?)

Oh and I wanted to make sure that you know if you get an '08+ Touring most likely it won't have the PAX. As long as it has the 5 spoke rims you are OK. The 10 spoke rims are the PAX rims.

So for the price difference it is a bit more than just a couple of things. Plus when I was looking the price difference between an EX-L NAV&RES wasn't that much different than the Touring. If you leave off the RES or the NAV that is when you see the major price differences.
