I am getting ready to take ownership of an 2011 Touring Model.
Wanted to see if anyone has any info on installing airbags to the rear suspension to increase carry capacity?

I already have 2000 ex that i have used for many years to haul many things and people quite flawlessly and know it could use help not bottoming out. I would really like to avoid this for the new one.

Thanks to anyones advice

There is a company that has converted this van for handicapped use. They had to add a fair bit of equipment adding weight. Maybe they used an air suspension system. Have you checked the payload of this van and loaded it to it's capacity to see how it sits and handles? Adding too much weight affects more than rear ride height (handling, braking, acceleration, etc.)

Good luck

Carrying capacity is not only a function of suspension. If things like brakes aren't upgraded as well you're simply asking for trouble.

Look in the Tire, wheels and suspension forum, there are several threads talking about the airlift bags. These are older threads but will give you a place to start.
