I had absolutel no idea there's a market segment called "luxury" minivans or "non-luxury" minivans.

So far, you don't see Infiniti or Lexus or Buick or Cadillac or Lincoln putting out a minivan. If they did, then it's for sure that Acura would have gotten the Ody that I got--leather, DVD, etc. And they would have put a few more touches into it. Meanwhile, Honda would have stayed with cloth and no goodies.

So I wonder just what that author is thinking.

The only manufacturer with a luxury minivan would be Chrysler with thir T&C line, then again its similiar to the current Odyssey anyway (in conveniences).
