Another 05 no start

Hello ODYCLUB. My first post with of course a problem. About a month ago, our 05 would not start one morning without any symptoms. No solenoid chattering, etc. Just wouldn't start. Jump start did nothing. After about 4-hours, it started up. No problems until today about one month later. Battery is fine, lights strong and do not dim at all when trying to start. Fuses are all fine. I tried some of the remedies found here without any luck. VIN is outside those listed in the fuel pump and fuse box TSB. Who knows; maybe tomorrow it will start. Anyway, any other ideas about this issue.

Thanks

Those are the exact symptoms of a starter going bad, but
it could also be a bad electric contact, like a poor ground connection.

I hate intermittent problems  , they are the worse to troubleshoot!
You need to clarify won't start. Does the engine turn over and not start or does the starter motor not turn at all.

The engine does not turn over. No solenoid sound. No starter motor turning, Nothing but silence. I have been trying it every few hours...still nothing. Luckily it happened while the van was in our driveway and not at some store or along the road. If nothing changes, I will have to have it towed to my mechanic...:(

Scary, this has never happened with my Honda nor my Olds. But I did have loose battery connection on my Olds that scared the crap out of us. Battery blew up, the entire top of the casing about 1.5 inches off the top. Boom. Battery acid on everything. Batteries are not to be taken lightly. Talk about a mess to clean up. turned out the battery had leaked off hydrogen gas overnight from cooling down and when I started the van it went bang. spark from loose battery terminal.
If you can get to the starter, give it a good couple of hits with a hammer. If it is the starter, it may bring it back to life for a very short time but enough to start it. On my old Pontiac, I used a bar as an extension and put the hammer from the bar to the starter. It was enough to start it and get it to a mechanic to replace.
bw03, Good call. At the very least, I have to rule out the starter. Now if it is accessible. Any one ever attempt to find and work on the starter on their Ody? Haven't had time to crawl under it yet.

I just had this same exact problem this morning, all the lights are strong, just a click when I go to start it... picked up a new battery, still doesn't start...I'm going to go fiddle with the starter I guess. Any new ideas on this one??
I saw in another thread somewhere to pump the gas pedal up and down a few times while trying to start it...anyway, this worked, started right up.
