One of the FEW problems I notice with the '98 ODY LX-7 that I bought last week is that there is some sort of spotting on the inside of the clear instrument panel plastic. I would like to clean it. Has anyone tried to get the plastic out? I unscrewed the 2 phillips screws on the roof of the instrument panel shroud, but it doesn't help. I don't want to force anything. I haven't yet bought a repair manual. Steve Johnson, S.Calif.

Not sure on he 98 model, I had my 00 apart to install white face guages....it shouldn't be that hard..it's a honda!
just gently tug and pull and look for screws....they do come apart easily. on my Ody, you had to remove the ENTIRE black plastic trim piece to get to the guage.....just look around. there should be at least 2 more screws somewhere on the bottom.....

TrickedOdyssey: Thanks for your reply. I had to wait until my Helms 98 Shop manual arrived before I could remove the dash gauge plastic lens. Two screws are visible, but another screw is found only when you pop off the left vent, which I did. Apparently the previous owner had sprayed something that had eaten into the plastic. The only thing that worked was lacquer thinner. I worked for over an hour and ultimately rubbed the blemishes out, and now the plastic is sparkling clear. Thanks for your input. Steve Johnson, S. Calif.
